KRYAL Castle has held many new events recently like Unicorn Festival and Knight and Day event, but April will mark the return of a former fixture at the attraction.

After halting in early 2020, The Bohemian Twilight Market is being revived this Wednesday, and will see both temporary market stalls and sole traders dotted about the medieval themed attraction.

Although continuing the market life of Kryal Castle, Belinda Ellams, the market’s founder and owner of The Forest and the Fae, said the revival will offer something different to what came before.

“Previously we had kept it bespoke and bohemian but at the moment we just want a happy village atmosphere,” she said.

“We’re open to a wider variety of stallholders than before. They can be upcyclers, even antique wares or flower shops, because we envisage it will be an ongoing market with a village life here.

“The pandemic has given creative people a lot of time to rethink their approach and try new things so we’re looking forward to seeing what’s out there.”

The market was founded in late 2019 when Ms Ellams took up permanent tradership at Kryal, and held over 30 temporary stalls each month, with an average attendance of 500 people.

Ms Ellams said 12 new traders have expressed interest in booking a stall for the upcoming market, and she’s confident they will exceed the success of its original run.

“There’s a lot of people that have started making products over the pandemic so we’ll probably have an influx of new faces,” she said.

“It will definitely gain momentum. It’s available to the public without any shows so it gives them the opportunity to come in here for less than the regular entry fee.

“It just utilises the space we have in a different way.”

Following its Wednesday return, the market will take place on the first Wednesday of every month, with the view to expand to fortnightly dates during daylight savings.

The Bohemian Twilight Market will take place from 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday, 6 April, with an entry fee of $5.

Traders can book a stall by emailing [email protected] or by messaging the market’s Facebook page.
