Farmyard fun at Creswick
THIS school holidays meet Billy the Kid and his sister Bridget at Creswick Woollen Mills.
These newest members of the farmyard will be fed at 11am and 3pm from Saturday 1 July to Friday 14 July.
There will also be children’s art and craft activities and photo opportunities with Billy.
“We’ve got quite lot planned for the school holidays,” said Jen Best, retail and tourism manager at the Creswick Woollen Mills.
“To provide a bit of fun to families and people out travelling over the holidays we have our museum experience open where people can go through and read all about the history of the mill.
“Out in our animal experience we also have our new members Billy the Kid and his sister Bridget and we’re going to be doing to photo opportunities where kids can dress up.”
Those who spend a certain amount of money in store will also have a chance to spend time with a baby cria.
Ms Best said now is the perfect time to pick up some winter warmers.
“Of course, being winter, shopping for nice warm woollies and natural fibres is a big thing,” she said.
The school holiday activities provide a chance for children to learn about where natural fibres come from.
“Here the whole purpose of having the animals is that people can see, and children can learn about that whole life of textiles,” said Ms Best.
Overall, Ms Best said the Creswick Woollen Mills has something for everyone.
“I think it’s a really all rounded family outing,” she said.
“There’s something for the dads because we’ve got big, heavy machinery, there’s the animals for the kids and the shopping for the mums.”
