THE Ballarat community is being invited to provide feedback on the Art Gallery of Ballarat master plan.

The plan will shape the future of the visual arts centre, which is currently closed for upgrades.

Consultation is open online on the City of Ballarat’s MySay page and will occur in person at Delacombe Town Centre on Friday 6 June from 9.30am to 5pm and Saturday 7 June at the Bridge Mall Market from 9am until 1pm.

Community and stakeholder feedback will guide creation of the plan.

“Whether you live locally or travel to visit Ballarat, we’d love to hear your ideas,” mayor Cr Tracey Hargreaves said. “Your feedback will help shape the future of one of Ballarat’s most treasured facilities.”

The creation of the master plan is supported by State Government funding.

Art Gallery of Ballarat director Louise Tegart said it was important to develop a long-term vision for the cultural facility.

“The master plan is important because a united direction supported by the City of Ballarat and Victorian Government will help to develop a holistic long-term vision for the facility that benefits the community and visitors to the region,” she said.

“The Art Gallery of Ballarat is a central component of Ballarat’s cultural and visitor economy.

“This master plan will help us decide what the gallery should look like, what it should offer, and how it can best serve the Ballarat community; now and in the future.”

The community can provide feedback until the closing date of Sunday 15 June.
