Feedback sought on local parks
COMMUNITY input is wanted on how to improve seven of the City of Ballarat’s smaller open spaces.
The feedback is set to form part of the Neighbourhood Parks Improvement Program that’s aiming to design spaces in collaboration with residents and provide upgrades.
Feedback is wanted in relation to accessibility, attractiveness, and usability with the final designs also to include natural shade and increased pedestrian connections.
The parks included in the program include Yarana Drive Park, Victoria Street Reserve, Kowree Crescent Reserve and Drummond Street Reserve.
Clover Street Reserve, Gregory Street Reserve and Marigold Street Reserve are also set to be upgraded.
Mayor Cr Des Hudson said the parks had been selected based on requests from users.
“Parks that are chosen have not had upgrades in more than 15 years or so and have older equipment that no longer suits the needs of the community that use the spaces or have been nominated through a community request,” he said.
Co-design workshops are being held at each park and the details of these sessions can be found on the City of Ballarat MySay page under neighbourhood parks.
