Find fun at Maze House
THIS school holidays head into the great outdoors and find yourself in the maze at Maze House, located at Newlyn North.
The venue is open every day of the summer school holidays from 10am until 4.30pm there’s hidden clues for children to find around the manicured hedge maze.
There are also old-time carnival games and a milk bar on site serving milkshakes and ice cream.
“We have a traditional hedge maze which is 30 years old and there is a maze hunt for kids where they have to find things out,” said owner Trish Kevin.
“We also have old times carnival games like return bowling which is a take on traditional bowling with a twist.
“We’ve got a horse racing game where people race each other and lawn bowls where you compete to get closest to the target.”
The country setting acts as a backdrop to the activities.
“It’s all set in a rural country garden with apple orchards which are just about at their peak and mulberries and raspberries and a whole range of fruit trees,” said Ms Kevin.
“We also have a country cricket pitch with a scoreboard which people love playing on and a lot of perennial beds and lots of shady spots.”
Ms Kevin said that so far the program has been going well so far despite rainy weather.
“We’ve had a constant stream of people and because the weather hasn’t been to hot it’s actually delightful at the moment and really lush and green,” she said.
Entry to Maze House is $12 for children and $14 for adults with bookings recommended via mazehouse.com.au.
