Fire up for flaming fun!
FIRE and festivities are coming to the region later this month as part of the Flame Festival aimed at giving children and families a fun night out.
Taking place on Sunday 22 September, the event will see a range of fire-themed performances and activities showcased at the Wendouree Archery Club.
Festival manager Evelyn Awa said the festival is about giving the community an evening of entertainment.
“We do this event quite a lot in Sydney and we wanted to bring this to Ballarat as well and see how the public would like it,” she said.
“We’ll have amusement rides and jumping castles for young kids, as well as food trucks and fire activities taking place with fire acts and live singing.”
As well as roaming fire performers, the event will feature live music, market stalls and children’s activities.
About half a dozen local stallholders are expected to feature.
The festival debuted this year in Sydney and is coming to town after being held at Berwick in April, and recently in Geelong over the weekend.
Ms Awa estimated the recent festivals saw between 900 to 1000 attendees and she expects similar numbers for the local debut.
The event will take place from 5pm. Tickets are $10 general, and free for children aged 12 and under and can be booked at bit.ly/3z2DOjx.
