Five things you can’t miss at the Show
THE Ballarat Times 2023 Ballarat Show is kicking off this afternoon with a range of performances, activities and entertainment sure to suit the whole family.
With free entry for children 14 and under the event promises to provide an affordable and fun day out.
Fireworks Display
At a new time of Friday night, the annual fireworks display is set to start the show with a bang.
Tim Bone will be on site serving his toasties and band Mast Gully Sellers will be playing from 8.10pm.
The fireworks are expected to get underway around 9pm.
Sandy Creek Clydesdales Stud
Eighteen Clydesdale horses from the Sandy Creek Clydesdales Stud will be on site all three days of the Show.
Guests will be able to interact with the horses and there will also be talks about the breed which is currently on the endangered list.
During the parade on Saturday the Clydesdales will pull a heritage lorry.
Kryal Castle jousting
Watch knights clash on Broadhead Arena with a visit from Kryal Castle.
The unique and free activity will be held daily, providing attendees with the chance to see two knights riding on horseback, aiming to knock the other off their horse with lances.
Fun Farm 2 U
Visit the mobile animal farm in the family pavilion which is bound to provide free fun for all.
There will be a range of farm animals including poultry, piglets, goats, lambs, calves. Visitors will be able to have a hands-on experience interacting with the animals.
Dave and the Muttley Crew
Farmer Dave Graham’s interactive show will teach audience members the history of dogs and how humans should interact with them.
It will feature a range of rescued dogs and aims encourage the public to better understand their dogs.
The performance will be on all three days of the Show.
