IMAGES shared as part of Ballarat International Foto Biennale’s pandemic photography project #MassIsolationAUS are now on public display in two interstate locations.

Instagram photos presenting Australians’ unique self-isolation experiences during the coronavirus crisis are being screened in Liverpool in New South Wales, and Bunjil Place in Queensland.

BIFB artistic director, Fiona Sweet said the project has captured the imaginations of professional and amateur photographers during a significant period of their lives.

“This project really resonates, especially in Victoria. It’s very close to home,” she said.

“Many art projects don’t necessarily resonate with larger audiences, but because we’re all living the COVID experience and we’re all isolated, #MassIsolationAUS is a way we can see what everyone’s doing, and identify with these stories people are telling in the photographic medium.”

In recent months, the project’s curated images were on show on the big screen at Melbourne’s Federation Square.
