Find your next outfit at Cafs pop-up
LYDIARD Street’s new boutique store offers a groovy way to support a good cause.
Found by Cafs is a pop-up designer, vintage, and quality second hand clothes and collectables shop which is raising funds for Cafs’ Thread Together program.
CEO Wendy Sturgess said the boutique is a project the organisation has been keen to launch for a long time.
“Supporting Found by Cafs is shopping with a conscience,” she said.
“We’re giving new life to old items that may have gone to landfill, and directing those funds back into a program that supports the most vulnerable people in our community.
“What’s not to love? It is very exciting seeing the vision finally come to life.”
Cafs seed-funded the Thread Together Clothing Hub in Ballarat, where vulnerable people in need of a new, clean, warm set of clothes and footwear can come and access brand-new pieces from quality labels.
Social and welfare agencies send clients in need of fresh garments and shoes to the clothing hub to receive a brand-new full wardrobe, or any individual items, with styling and sizing assistance from the store’s volunteers.
Found by Cafs volunteers have chosen pieces to sell in the pop-up boutique, and in the process, have discovered some special quality treasures in ‘as new’ condition, like a pair of unworn Christian Louboutin shoes in their original box, and a Gucci bee jumper.
Found by Cafs is open Wednesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm until the end of June at 43 Lydiard Street North.
