FOR people looking for a way to get involved within the community and benefit those who need it most, the Ballarat Regional Multicultural Council has an opportunity for you.

Still in the early pilot stage, BRMC has kicked off its Thrive Community Garden space and they are looking for volunteers.

As supported by The Ballarat Foundation, the garden space was recently instigated with the aim of increasing access to fresh food for Ballarat’s multicultural communities.

Representative from the Ballarat Community Garden worked with BRMC volunteers to install two new wicking beds at the rear of the Ballarat Welcome Centre.

In response to community suggestions and input, the group decided to initially plant chillies, Vietnamese mint, corn, okra, silver beet, beans and a range of herbs.

To get involved and volunteer for the projects, contact Rebecca at [email protected].
