Gardens get greener for fest

IF the gardens precinct wasn’t green enough, the area will be even more lush in five weeks’ time.

Avalon Nursery are bringing a garden zone to life at SpringFest’s Market Sunday on 26 November as one of the event’s sponsors.

Director Luke Noether said the nursery’s staff members will be on site, and as they’re all plant and gardening enthusiasts, they’re keen share that passion with more members of the community.

“We believe everyone should have an opportunity to have plants in their life in some way, shape or form,” he said.

“We believe plants enrich a person’s environment and all members of the community should have access to quality products and advice… from garden design and plant selection to planting and ongoing maintenance.

“We also feel our services and products go hand in hand with a festival that celebrates all things spring.”

In the garden zone, Avalon Nursery staff will have a large variety of plants of products on show and for sale.

“We will have a focus on colour and beautiful spring flowering,” Mr Noether said.

“Besides our extensive store, we will have pot-a-plant activities for the kids, displays from some of our product partners including specialty plant suppliers, turf and lawn solutions, and garden equipment.”

A mini garden where festival goers can chill out is also planned as part of the business’ activations.

Mr Noether said running the nursery in a community-focused manner is also paramount to him and his management colleagues.

“One of our core values is to ensure we actively engage and give back to the community in which supports our business,” he said.

“Springfest is an iconic event in Ballarat and when the opportunity to be involved arose we had no hesitation to come on board.

“We are lucky enough to be able to support and promote a large number of local groups within the wider Ballarat community and we see Springfest as an opportunity to do this on a larger scale.”
