Giddy Up! Cowboys are coming to town

A SLICE of the Wild West is coming to Kryal Castle this January with the Ballarat Rodeo.

The event is a first for Kryal Castle with cowboys and girls riding bucking broncos and bulls to entertain crowds.

“This is the first one for Kryal Castle and I don’t think Ballarat’s had a rodeo since 2019 so it’s been five years,” said CEO Bart Hamilton.

“We actually have a bull rider who’s one of our knights and he put me in touch with Woodall Rodeo so it’s a joint production and I think it’ll be an annual event at Kryal Castle.”

Aside from the rodeo, there will also be a range of family friendly activities on site including a jumping castle, live music and food and beverages.

“It’s a bull riding circuit and there will also be barrel racing,” said Mr Hamilton.

“We will also have one of our jousts and the whole thing ends with a country music performance.”

Mr Hamilton said he is looking forward to this expansion of Kryal Castle’s offerings.

“It’s a chance to show another audience Kryal Castle and ticket sales are going crazy already,” he said.

“Ballarat always gets around a rodeo so it’s great that we get to host it.”

The Ballarat Rodeo will take place on Saturday 6 January from 10am. Tickets can be purchased on the Kryal Castle website.
