Grampians Health board chair appointed
ROB Knowles has been appointed by the State Government as Grampians Health’s board chair.
The appointment follows his tenure as interim chair and CEO Dale Fraser said the organisation welcomes Mr Knowles as the board chair.
“Rob’s leadership, experience, regional connections, and deep understanding of the health landscape have been invaluable during the last few months,” Mr Fraser said.
“His confirmation as chair ensures continuity and a strong strategic focus as we move into the next phase of our growth while we continue to make care accessible to our communities.
“We are fortunate to have someone of his calibre guiding our board.”
Mr Knowles is a former state health and aged care minister, serving in Parliament from 1976 to 1999 including as deputy leader of the Legislative Council.
He has been commissioner of the National Health and Hospital Reform Commission, chair of the Royal Children’s Hospital Board, chair of the Victorian Health Reform and Innovation Council, and was chair of the board of Ballarat Grammar for eight years.
Mr Knowles also serves on the Silverchain, Beyond Blue, and Great Ocean Road Health boards.
“I’m honoured to continue serving as board chair of Grampians Health,” he said.
“Since its formation, Grampians Health has made great strides in delivering more integrated and equitable healthcare across our region.
“I look forward to working with our communities, staff, and partners to build on this momentum and ensure we continue to meet the diverse needs of the people we serve.”
