The aim of the session was to connect those from the organisation’s volunteer programs and provide them with time to focus on their wellbeing.
“We wanted to create something meaningful for our volunteer team that acknowledges the incredible work they do, their selfless contribution, while also providing them the time and space to focus on themselves as individuals” Leah Ferguson, manager of volunteer services said.
“These sessions are about connection, reflection, and reminding our volunteers that it is vital they prioritise their wellbeing and selfcare continuously to equip them in their role.”
The initiative led by volunteer Luba Bradford included activities such as Tai Chi, seated meditation, music and storytelling, group discussion, self-care cards, and Taoist walking.
Volunteers with Grampians Health offer compassion, support and assistance to visitors to the health service.
“Our volunteers are the heart of Grampians Health,” Claire Woods, chief people officer said.
“They bring compassion, energy, and dedication to everything they do.
“Their contribution is not only deeply valued but essential to the care we provide across the region.”
