Grants to inspire creatives

ARTISTS, makers and creatives living, working and studying in Ballarat are invited to apply for the next round of City of Ballarat creative inspiration grants.

Nine successful applicants will be awarded $5000 to support a new initiative, project or event, ot to assist a creative business.

This is an increase from the previous format of the grant program where successful applicants were awarded $1000.

There will be one round each financial year.

“We know the creative sector is crucial to our prosperity, helping to make Ballarat a better place to live, work and study,” Mayor Cr Tracey Hargreaves said.

“I am pleased to see the expansion of the creative inspiration grants program, and would encourage artists, creatives, producers, performers, creative industries, makers and artisans who are living, working or studying in the City of Ballarat to consider applying.”

The grants program is designed to align with the City of Ballarat’s creative strategy which focuses on strengthening the region’s creative sector.
