BUNINYONG’S annual Smart Building and Living Expo is back for its seventh year at Royal Park on Sunday, 23 February.

This year, the event has a focus on climate change, with its slogan ‘Care Dare to Change’ inspired by youth environmental activist, Greta Thunberg.

At the free event, patrons can look forward to the largest display of electric vehicles the expo has ever seen, alongside eco-friendly building and lifestyle services, kids’ activities and food vans.

Event director Andrea Mason encourages people to come and see how they can make a small change, with a big impact.

“This expo is about making it easy to make the change,” she said. “It’s about finding the products, being able to talk to people and breaking everything down so the information can be made more accessible.”

Perhaps also inspired by Greta Thunberg, students from the Buninyong Primary School will be showing off their solar boats and their Energy Breakthrough car.

The ‘Can Do’ Community Hall is back again, with Buninyong Boomerang Bags offering free homemade bags and the Ballarat Repair Café demonstrating repairs for household items.

Head to Royal Park on the corner of Warrenheip and Hedrick Streets, Buninyong between 10am and 3.30pm on Sunday, 23 February to get involved.
