Have a ball for breast cancer
A BLACK tie cocktail party will support and raise awareness for local McGrath Foundation Breast Care Nurses this Saturday night.
Hosted at the Old Colonists Club, the event begins at 7pm, with live bands, Caleb and Nick, Jules and Damo and Five O’Clock Shadows set to play through the night. There’ll be plenty of socialising and silent auctions.
It’s the second McGrath Cocktail Party run by hairdresser, Katrina McGrath, as a thank you to the nurses, and night of celebration.
She is hoping for at least 100 attendees, but ultimately, Ms McGrath’s aim is to raise funds and ensure all women in the Ballarat area with breast cancer can access quality medical care and general support.
Ms McGrath was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago and received care from McGrath Nurse, Joylene Fletcher.
“I couldn’t have functioned normally without the help of Joylene,” she said. “The nurses do a wonderful job, they’re vital,” Ms McGrath said.
The McGrath Breast Care Nurses help patients physically, psychologically and emotionally from diagnosis and through treatment. Their support is free whether the patient is in the public or private health system.
Tickets are $100 per head including a drink on arrival and finger food via ticketbo.com.au/mcgbtcp.
