Heathcote set for flagship event
Heathcote On Show – a local fixture on the June long weekend for more than 15 years – will feature more than 25 producers and venues sharing and displaying their boutique products in a variety of settings and locations.
It is organised and run by Heathcote Tourism and Development, and has a focus on fine wine, craft beer and gin. The Heathcote wine region is particularly noted for its shiraz products, but there’s plenty more to choose from in a food and lifestyle, family-oriented format.
“It’s a fantastic event for the whole family to enjoy,” HTD vice-president India Munari said.
A shuttle bus service – allowing visitors to experience everything without worrying about having to drive – will operate once again and will offer an itinerary of 12 wineries, breweries and distilleries in and around the town.
“For $45 per day you can choose where you stop and how long you stay at each stop,” Ms Munari said.
“There are four intersecting bus routes as well as an express return service to get you from Bendigo to Heathcote and back.
“Why not head to Shiraz Republic to catch Bendigo musician Grim Fawkner performing from the back of a classic Bedford truck, or immerse yourself in a world of exquisite flavours when you attend a tasting seminar at Silver Spoon Estate, delivered every hour.
“Visit Sanguine Estate, who will be serving woodfired Italian pizza, or discover the picturesque views at Munari Wines while you grab a burger and unwind to the sounds of Josh DeAraugo and Jordan Allen and their band, who are performing from 3pm to 6pm both Saturday and Sunday.”
Heathcote On Show regularly attracts thousands of visitors to the area, with organisers always looking to grow the event further.
A full shuttle bus guide, information on the wide range of events and venues, and required tickets are all available on the event website, heathcoteonshow.com.
