Info for athletes goes on-air
STRENGTH and conditioning gym RADcentre is taking to the airwaves, as staff seek to expand the reach of their elite-level health and fitness expertise.
They’ve launched a podcast, The RAD Lab, hosted by strength and conditioning coach Liam Haintz.
“We’re super lucky to have such a good community already and want to take steps to connect with them and further that relationship,” he said.
“We’ve created the podcast to share information and increase the general IQ around strength and conditioning, and what we do.
“It’s also a platform for clinicians, athletes and coaches to share their stories, help others become the best version of themselves and further their understanding of the world of performance.”
As a self-described “chatty person,” Mr Haintz said he’s enjoying interviewing guests in the RADcentre studio and hearing their different perspectives while creating resources for his athlete clients.
“I’ve spoken with a mix of people including athletes Abbey Wehrung, who’s a new Miners signing who’s played basketball for Australia, and footballer Jake Lohmann who is involved with youth mental health,” Mr Haintz said.
“We’ve had Chris Radford on to talk about the RAD story and how it came to be, Linc Barnes to talk about improving speed, and Tim Welsh to talk about program structure and offseason work.
“Our new episode is with our physio Shane Pongho, chatting about hamstring rehab in team sport. We simply want to provide as much value and information as we can to everyone out there.”
Based at Selkirk Stadium in Wendouree, the RADcentre was named business of the year at the 2022 Federation University Commerce Ballarat Business Excellence Awards.
