Join in the dragon boat fun!

This year's Dragon Boat Festival is being held during the year of the dragon

IN order to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival, The Chinese Professionals Club of Australia (CPCA) and the Chinese Australian Cultural Society Ballarat (CACSB) are hosting a carnival in Ballarat.

Sponsored by Victorian Multicultural Commission, the event will be held from 10.30am to 4pm on Saturday the 15th of June, 2024.

The carnival will be held at Durham Point, Late Wendouree, Ballarat.

Activities to feature include…

  • Dragon Boat paddling experience
  • Stage show
  • Festival stalls
  • Fan painting for kids
  • Free sausage sizzle
  • Free zongzi-shaped lollies
  • Learn to write Chinese calligraphy
  • Free couplets and Chinese character “福”
  • Chinese paper cuts of little dragon
  • And many more
Learn to write Chinese calligraphy as part of the carnival.

The primary purpose of the Carnival is to foster inclusivity, celebrate diversity, and promote unity within our communities. Come and join us for a fun day!

“The highlight is the Dragon Boat paddling experience where we have the Ballarat Dragon Boat Club and a couple of boats out on the lake,” Helina Guo, secretary for the Chinese Professionals Club of Australia said.

“People are welcome to get on the boat and have a paddle and people from the club will be teaching.

“It’s teamwork, it’s fun and for a lot of people it will be the first time in their life.”
