FEDERAL member for Ballarat Catherine King recently opened the Ballarat Seniors Expo at Sebastapol’s Ingenia Gardens Sovereign retirement living facility.

The two-day event, part of Victorian Seniors Festival held across the state every October for the past 36 years, had a program of informative displays and presentations, health checks and product demonstrations.

Residents and visitors were entertained by the Sebastapol Seniors Band and a roving magician while enjoying a free BBQ lunch provided by the Lions Club of Sebastapol and barista coffee.

Ms King, officially opening the expo, said these types of events held throughout the Seniors Festival helps local residents and their families access information.

“The expo really is a fantastic opportunity for local business and service providers to showcase here what is available in our community.”

The month long Victorian Seniors Festival celebrates the more than one million Victorians over 60 who make such a valuable contribution to our society.
