Liberals launch central campaign office

AHEAD of the Federal election, the Liberal Party are opening a local campaign office in the CBD.

The shopfront that is 420 Sturt Street, now named Liberal House, will begin operating for two days a week initially, when COVID safe to do so, and its opening hours will scale up as election times grows closer.

Victorian Senator Sarah Henderson said the party will “very seriously” contest the Federal seat of Ballarat seat, currently held by long-time Labor member Catherine King.

“As patron Senator for Ballarat, I am very pleased to be working with local Liberals on behalf of the Morrison Government to ensure the people of Ballarat have their voice heard in Canberra,” she said.

“Liberal House Ballarat evidences the Liberal Party’s determination to stand up for regional Victorian communities at this very important time for our nation. It’s exciting not just to have a home for Ballarat Liberals, but an important resource for the community as well.

“Whether it’s major investments in rail, roads, tourism icons like Sovereign Hill, fast broadband or community infrastructure, the Morrison Government is very proud to be delivering for Ballarat.”

The Liberal Party’s Ballarat Federal Electorate Conference chair Chris Findlay said Liberal House is the first formal campaign office the organisation has ever had in the city, and that they’re currently in the process of selecting a candidate to contest the seat.

“We’re very much looking forward to supporting them, and having this great campaign office to work out of, with the support of Sarah,” he said.
