Ballarat Libraries’ remote borrowing accessible
BALLARAT Libraries are offering contactless Click and Collect, and The Book Tailor services while their centres are closed to the public.
Under The Book Tailor, resources including books, magazines, audio books and DVDs can be requested for children or adults, with a surprise bundle selected by staff, and this service can be utilised as often as members like.
City of Ballarat mayor, Cr Ben Taylor said a thorough risk assessment has been completed so that the library services remain COVID safe. A 72-hour quarantine procedure for all returns is in place.
“This is such an important service for all our residents, but particularly those who are feeling isolated and rely on books and other resources for their learning and enjoyment,” he said.
The Book Tailor can be accessed via bit.ly/34sDqsA or by calling 5338 6850. Borrowers can note how many items they would like, what type, things they enjoy or don’t, and staff will make choices.
Borrowers will receive an alert when their bundles can be picked up.
Items on hold can also be collected, with all pickups available Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm. Ballarat, Sebastopol and Wendouree libraries will allow collections on Saturdays too, 9.30am to 12pm.
