Looking back on Cape Clear’s history
CAPE CLEAR and District Historical Society are taking a step back in time with a photographic exhibition this May.
The event is a chance for the society to share their extensive collection of historical pictures with the community.
The exhibition will explore the history of Cape Clear and surrounding districts including Springdallah, Dereel, Rokewood Junction, Pitfield and other areas.
Organisers said they hope the community will get a lot of joy from seeing photos their local areas many years ago.
Copies of photos will also be available for purchase for those who would like to keep their part of history.
Attendees can also talk to historical society members about conducting other forms of historical research on the region.
The exhibition will be held from 1pm until 4pm on Sunday, 7 May at Cape Clear Hall.
Entry is $2 and there will be a free afternoon tea provided to attendees.
