Looking to Ballarat’s industrial future
COMMUNITY consultation has been received by the City of Ballarat about how industrial and commercial land should develop as the city grows.
Key themes which emerged from the consultation include the suitability of sites, adequate and appropriate sewage and water services, and individual requests to rezone sites identified in the initial draft strategy.
The feedback has been considered and reviewed to address these issues in the draft Industrial Land Strategy.
City of Ballarat director of development and growth, Natalie Robertson said it is important to re-evaluate industrial land.
“It’s so important that we listen and hear our community’s input and work together to assess these with other relevant stakeholders, such as businesses and other government agencies,” she said.
“Together, this strategic work will inform and guide future planning and investment decisions in our city.”
Work will now begin to develop content to include in the next version of the strategy and a second stage of consultation will open next year.
