AFTER a few pandemic and logistical hurdles, organisers of a classic community fundraising event are aiming to stage it for the first time since 2019.

The Rotary Club of Ballarat’s special SpringFest committee has announced that the market day is set to return in November, and their aim is for it to be the biggest SpringFest ever.

Set to be held in the gardens precinct of Lake Wendouree between Carlton Street to St Aidans Drive, the event is planned for Sunday 26 November, and SpringFest coordinator Nicole Bartlett said she encourages young and old to mark their calendars.

“We are locking in the date of November 26, and an official launch for the 7th of September,” she said. “We can’t wait to share all the details with the community then.

“At 450 stallholders, we are sold out already for this year, but if businesses are still interested to express interest, they can head to our website.

“We’re also calling for buskers to express their interest in performing throughout the day.”

A statement from the committee said the market day, which first launched in 1994 and financially benefits grassroots partner organisations, is set to have the same “vibrancy, energy, and community spirit” that it has become known for.

“Our new location… will be bursting with SpringFest magic,” the statement said.

“An amazing array of stalls, music floating on the breeze, and laughter lighting up the air. From foodie delights to artisanal crafts, from stunning local art to engaging kids’ activities, we’ve got it all.

“This year, SpringFest Ballarat is bigger, better, and more blooming beautiful than ever.”
