Market springs up this Sunday
ROTARY Club of Ballarat’s iconic SpringFest Market Sunday will be held this Sunday, November 24 within the Gardens Precinct by Lake Wendouree, offering handmade crafts, fresh produce, and family activities.
The major fundraiser from 10am to 4pm will support community organisations and Rotary projects, and is the ideal opportunity to shop local ahead of Christmas.
Ambassadors Jules Zass and Tim Bone offered a few reccommendations to best enjoy the day.
“Start your day bright and early. With so much to see and do, from unique market stalls and live entertainment to family-friendly activities, arriving early ensures you can explore at a relaxed pace and don’t miss a thing,” they said.
“While many stallholders accept EFTPOS, having cash on hand is always a smart move for faster transactions at smaller stalls or food trucks.
“Don’t miss your chance to win amazing prizes in the exclusive SpringFest raffle. With only 600 tickets available, your odds are excellent. Prizes range from $1,500 grocery voucher to $750 petrol voucher and local experiences to fantastic goodies.”
Ms Zass and Mr Bone encourage festival-goers to arrive hungry.
“SpringFest’s lineup of food trucks offers something for every craving, from savory bites to indulgent treats. Sample gourmet toasties, international flavours, and local delicacies,” they said.
“The hardest decision you’ll make all day is what to eat first, just be sure to save room for dessert!
“SpringFest’s beautiful expanded location at the Gardens Precinct is perfect for relaxing. Bring a picnic rug to set up a base for your family and friends.
“It’s a great way to rest, enjoy the stunning surroundings of Lake Wendouree, and have a central spot to return to between exploring the market stalls and entertainment.”
SpringFest, sponsored by Optus, is a sustainable event with the committee aiming to limit rubbish and plastic.
“We pride it on being environmentally friendly,” a statement from organisers said.
“Pack a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated as water refill stations will be available across the venue.
“Bring your reusable shopping bags to carry your market finds, and let’s all work together to reduce waste and protect our environment.”
