FORMER Weddings Parties Anything front man Mick Thomas is set to play two shows at Volta this Friday with is band Roving Commission onboard for the ride.

With an early and late performances, the shows are part of his National Tour of Victoria that was conceived during the second wave COVID lockdown when it wasn’t possible to get out of the state.

The two shows mark the return of out of town live music acts playing in the city and Thomas will be performing tracks off his two new albums, See You On the Other Side released in June and City’s Calling Me out in 2021. Both LPs were written during the pandemic.

Also, on the playlist is a recently released collaborative cover of Cold Chisel’s Forever Now.

Thomas teamed up with some big names to produce the track, including Frente! vocalist Angie Hart, You Am I hard rocker and 2020 Summer Sundays headliner Tim Rogers and Triple J Unearthed winner Sophie Koh.

Mick Thomas and his Roving Commission plays Volta this Friday, 4 December with shows at 6.30pm and 9.30pm. The events have limited capacity, are socially distanced and COVID-safe.
