ANOTHER round of applications to the City of Ballarat’s Community Impact Grants Program is now open.

The scheme is designed to provide benefits to the community in areas such as sustainability, inclusivity, and community capacity building.

Local not-for-profits, groups and associations can apply for the funding which ranges from $500 to $20,000.

The program aims to strengthen ties between groups and community members by funding priority areas.

Applications will be assessed by a committee of three councillors, representatives of local organisations, and community members.

City of Ballarat spokesperson Cr Tracy Hargreaves encouraged members of the community to apply for the grants.

“We are proud to be able to contribute to groups that can find it difficult to fund such worthy projects,” said Cr Hargreaves.

“I strongly encourage anybody who is part of a local not-for-profit group to consider applying if they meet the criteria.”

Previous recipients include the Ballarat Ballet Eisteddfod, Cardigan Windermere Landcare Group, Learmonth Community Skills Shed and Ballarat South Senior Citizens Club.

Applications close on Friday 15 September and can be made via the City of Ballarat website.
