MEMBERS of the Mount Clear Junior Football Netball Club are celebrating their community with a trivia night next week.

Taking place at the Ballarat East Bowling Club on Friday 11 August, the event will take the Mounties’ game off the fields and courts and into the clubrooms for a social evening of head-scratching games.

Set to be their first trivia night in more than six years, president Ashley Madigan said the evening will be all about fostering a sense of community.

“It’ll be a night for parents and supporters of the club,” he said. “It’s about having a social event for the club and getting people together for a good night.

“It’ll be exciting to catch up with our Mounties community in a social environment rather than a game day environment.”

Questions will be posed by hosts from Trivia with a Twist while attendees are encouraged to dress up in outrageous attire as part of the event’s theme I Can’t Believe You’re Wearing That.

The trivia night will be one of the club’s two major social events for the year with the other one, their annual Mounties mixer, having taken place in June.

Mr Madigan said the night will also be about celebrating the parents of Mounties players.

“We’re a little bit different to other clubs in that we’re a juniors-only club so the parents put a lot of time into the club donating and volunteering every week,” he said.

“They do things like coaching or help out on game day so it’s more about keeping them engaged and rewarding them for their efforts and creating that atmosphere.”

Tickets are $10 per individual or $100 for a table of 10 people and can be booked at bit.ly/3qgPH0A.
