MrBRAKES was set up around forty years ago to service the brake and clutch requirements of the people of Ballarat.

Since then, it has evolved into a highly successful business and one of the premier automotive Ballarat workshops, servicing all mechanical issues, not just brakes, under the tutelage of Brian and Anna Canny as owners and Matt Hosking as the chief mechanic.

Brian’s interest in cars was the principal reason for acquiring the business in 1998 and developing it into what it is today.

One of the critical developments was joining the Bosch Car Service Network in 2013. This opened up an involvement with a company renowned for its quality excellence and its contribution to the modern motor car dating back to the 1890s.

From our association with Bosch, we were provided with a host of post apprenticeship training and access to a wealth of knowledge as well as networking with another 150 workshops scattered around Australia.

This network enables us to provide Nationwide Warranty using the various workshops which are open to looking after Bosch customers while they are travelling.

At MrBrakes, we look after a great variety of cars, from older classic cars, some of which our staff own and love, to modern cars still under warranty. We are known as the place to bring your classic or modern vehicle. We look after your car with attention and the dedication to detail that you would expect.

We have a young enthusiastic staff, most of whom have come up through the workshop as apprentices to become very competent technicians, of whom we are very proud. Matt our chief mechanic has been the mainstay of the workshop and has been with the company for 22 years.

Which is a testament to his ability to look after people and their cars and the dedication to his chosen profession.
