Sovereign celebration of iconic sweet treat
A TRIP to Sovereign Hill this Tuesday, 22 February will be nothing but sweet.
It’s National Raspberry Drop Day, and the outdoor museum is set to celebrate their famous and delicious treats, made on site at Brown’s Confectionery Factory.
The first 100 visitors to Brown’s from 10am will receive one free bag of the iconic raspberry boiled lollies.
Raspberry drop-making demonstrations by Brown’s confectioners – who roll and mould the lollies by hand – will be viewable all day to a set timetable.
Sovereign Hill’s chefs, the Peter Rowland Group, have developed a unique raspberry drop ice-cream especially for the occasion, which will be served at the New York Bakery.
Wagon wheels with a raspberry drop twist will be sold by the Hope Bakery, and the gift shops, as always, will have the classic boiled lolly jars for visitors to take home as souvenirs.
Sovereign Hill will be open from 10am to 5pm on Tuesday, 22 February. Visit summer.sovereignhill.com.au for more information.
