BUSINESSPEOPLE will have an opportunity to learn and network when Commerce Ballarat hosts its annual Business Day Out event next month.

The half-day event will be held from 11.30am to 5pm at The Goods Shed in Lydiard Street North on Wednesday 21 May.

The event will feature four speakers and networking and collaboration sessions in a conference-style program.

The speakers – Dr Dinesh B. Palipana OAM, Dani Pearce, Shaun Briggs and Jason Clarke – have been selected to target topics like perseverance, marketing and adaptability.

Innovation and inspiration are also a focus this year.

“Not only is Business Day Out an exceptional opportunity to learn, but it is also an invaluable method of networking, to meet people, share ideas and discuss how we can grow our region,” Commerce Ballarat CEO Jodie Gillett said.

“Business Day Out is all about giving regional business the same treatment, opportunity and experience that is awarded to metropolitan business.

“It’s the same quality, but at an affordable price.”

Dr Palipana is the first medical intern to graduate with both quadriplegia and a spinal cord injury.

He is a qualified doctor, lawyer, Human Rights Commission ambassador, a published author, and a leading researcher in the field of spinal cord injuries.

Dani Pearce is the founder and CEO of Merry People Gumboots, formulating the design that catapulted her to success during her childhood in country Victoria.

The brand now has more than 165 retail partners in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Shaun Briggs is regarded as a marketing master, with more than two decades of experience and one of the world’s most beloved brands to his credit.

Under his direction, Specsavers ANZ has enjoyed continued success – particularly after the launch of his Your Eyes Are Priceless campaign.

Jason Clarke proclaims himself a ‘plumber of the mind’ and will head up the event’s ThinkTank session, which returns this year by popular demand.

He will lead participants in a discussion of key issues in the current economic landscape.
