New bus connections starting next year
STUDENTS in Miners Rest and Macarthur Park will have new school bus services to Mount Rowan Secondary College from term one of next year.
The direct school bus access to Ballarat High School will also continue.
The new services have been introduced in response to changes to school enrolment zones – Miners Rest and Macarthur Park were previously zoned to Ballarat High School but are now zoned to Mount Rowan Secondary College.
“We’re responding to the changing needs of local families in Miners Rest and Macarthur Park, now better connecting their school bus services to Mount Rowan Secondary College, as well as Ballarat High School,” Member for Ripon Martha Haylett said.
“Students will no longer have to wait around to get a bus home after school. So many local parents contacted me about this, and I’m delighted we got it done for them.”
Four special school services will be altered, with route 11 to be extended to Macarthur Park and terminating at Mount Rowan Secondary College instead of Ballarat High School.
Route 33 will be extended to Macarthur Park and Mount Rowan Secondary College while continuing to service Ballarat High School and terminating at Ballarat Station.
