New era in McCallum leadership
MCCALLUM Disability Services has announced the appointment of new CEO Rhiannon Williams.
Ms Williams has a background in community service organisations, having worked as an executive manager at Cafs and for Aboriginal Housing Victoria in housing reform.
“My first priority is to meet the people within the McCallum community, to listen and learn,” she said.
“I am eager to engage with the wonderful McCallum team, get to know the people we support, and better understand the dreams of those we serve.
“Those insights will help guide our focus on continuous improvement movement in quality of service and allow us to meet the evolving
needs of our customers and their families.”
Last September, outgoing CEO Tyrone McCuskey shared that he would be stepping down this month after more than a decade in the job.
He was also a voluntary board member for several years before becoming CEO.
Mr McCuskey said it had been an honour and privilege to lead the disability support service over such a long period.
“I am proud of what we have achieved together and am confident that the organisation will continue to thrive,” he said.
“I look forward to following McCallum’s future successes and am grateful for the support I have received throughout my tenure.”
A statement from the not-for-profit organisation said an extensive recruitment process had been undertaken last year.
“We’re very impressed with Rhiannon’s commitment to social justice and her passion for creating positive change in the community which will be pivotal to the success of McCallum’s strategic direction moving forward,” board chair Brett Bryant said.
Established in 1953, McCallum Disability Services is a provider of supported employment, accommodation, respite care, day support, and outreach services in Ballarat and St Arnaud.
McCallum merged with Ballarat Regional Industries a few years ago.
