New telehealth business comes online
A NEW telehealth psychology practice has been established in Ballarat and there’s currently no waiting list.
Therapy from Home, run by psychologist Beth Fernandes, is aiming to make sessions more accessible to parents and regional Australians in general.
The idea came from Ms Fernandes’ own experiences of being a parent and the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Then COVID changed things,” she said. “It made us appreciate that things can be different.
“It taught us that online platforms are a great way to connect with others.”
Therapy from Home appointments are available to anyone aged 15 and above who has a device with a strong internet connection.
Ms Fernandes said benefits of telehealth psychology include flexibility and the fact that participants can be somewhere the feel safe.
“There is no problem too big or too small, it is just a chance to work through things that you have found difficult to work though alone or with your current supports,” she said.
“At Therapy from Home, we believe that the relationship you form with your psychologist is the most important part of the therapy.”
“If you trust and feel comfortable with your psychologist and know that you are not being judged, then you feel safe to challenge yourself, to release emotion, to move forward.”
While Ms Fernandes is Ballarat based, appointments are available to anyone Australia-wide.
