LUCAS’ Woolworths supermarket is entering a new era following major renovations.

Earlier in the month, the new-look Coltman Plaza story was relaunched after five months’ worth of works.

This period saw the creation of a fresh front area, a full production bakery, an online order processing room, and undercover direct-to-boot pick-up bays.

“We’re excited to see the renovations wrap up and bring a new shopping experience to local shoppers,” store manager Rick Dunne said.

He said a wider fresh produce and local product range is available, and an electronic ticketing system is being used to reduce paper waste.

Fifteen new staff members have also been employed.

“There have been lots of changes to help the team and help our customers get the most out of the shop, whether it’s finding a larger range of groceries across all departments or changes in the store layout to make it more convenient for everyone coming in and out of the store,” Mr Dunne said.

“Another great part of this process has been growing our team.

“It’s good to have some fresh faces on board and many of these team members will be helping to support the online orders.”

It’s expected that 700 online orders will be able to be processed by Woolworths Lucas staff within a seven-day period.
