VICTORIANS are being asked to nominate outstanding women to become part of the Victorian Honour Roll of Women.

Women from diverse backgrounds and age groups can be nominated across four categories: local champion, change agent, emerging leader and trailblazer.

The honour roll aims to acknowledge the lasting contributions Victorian women have made to the community.

“Whether it’s changing lives in a lab or in their community, the Honour Roll is a chance to highlight incredible women from all walks of life who spend their days making a difference,” Minister for Women Natalie Hutchins said.

“The Honour Roll recognises outstanding and determined women who lead in their fields, are strengthening their communities or have bright futures ahead of them.

“The inductees serve as role models for everyone as we strive towards gender equality, so if you know someone who deserves to be recognised among these remarkable women, please nominate them now.”

Last year’s inductees included folk musician and Federal Court judge Judy Small, endocrinologist associate professor Ada Cheung, and Yorta Yorta artist and cultural practitioner Aunty Rochelle Patten.

More than 750 women have been inducted since the initiative began in 2001.

Nominations close Sunday 16 March and can be made at http://vic.gov.au/honour-roll-women.
