THE Ballarat north trunk sewer project has reached a new milestone with seventy five percent of installation complete.

In total, 750 meters of pipeline has been installed underground in the Ballarat northern growth area which is planned to have 6000 new houses constructed for 15,000 residents.

“Central Highlands Water is committed to investing in essential infrastructure for the region’s future growth and are pleased to share that the Ballarat north trunk sewer project is on schedule with 75 per cent now completed,” said Central Highlands Water managing director, Jeff Haydon.

“This project will allow for future development of the Ballarat northern growth area and will secure the wastewater needs for the planned 6,000 houses.”

The project will support the new Ballarat Showgrounds in Mount Rowan the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action facility.

The $3 million project will connect to an existing sewer network and transferred to the Ballarat North Reclamation Plant.

From there, waste will be treated and irrigated onto recreation reserves.
