HYPER-pop duo Odd Tastes will perform at Volta this weekend supported by solo alt-dream-pop artist LACHNES.

Will Stephens will gig in his hometown of Ballarat for the first time since 2019, alongside his twin sister and band partner, Georgina Stephens, sharing fresh Odd Tastes sounds.

“We’re going to be playing a lot of new songs that we haven’t done in Ballarat ever before. We’ve really switched up what we’ve been creating since we began playing,” he said.

“We’ve changed our live set, going from both George and I playing instruments, to both of us now singing, with crazy vocal effects and different hyper-pop sounds.

“We’ve played Karova before, but not Volta so I’m really excited to see how the venue looks.”

If you enjoy heading out for a late-night boogie, Stephens said the Field Street gig is something you’ll enjoy.

“We play club music, so if you like going out to the club, you should really come down and have a bit of a dance.

“The one thing we always do is make our gigs fun, so it’s going to be a lot of energy, with really cool songs you can dance to. It’s a club-ready set,” he said.

The Stephens siblings became musical collaborators five years ago and have experienced “big breaks,” supporting high-profile Australian names like The Smith Street Band and The Bennies.

“We were lucky enough to get on the line-up at the Queenscliff Music Festival. We went from little pub gigs to sold out venues,” Stephens said.

The performance will take place this Saturday, 16 January from 8.30pm. Visit eventbrite.com.au/e/odd-tastes-lachnes-tickets-133279489541 for tickets.
