PICNIC in the Park, organised by the City of Ballarat, will return this Australia Day at Victoria Park.

This is the fourth time the event has been held, and it will run from 11am until 3pm next to the inclusive play space on Oak Avenue on Sunday 26 January.

Food vendors, market stalls and children’s activities and entertainment will be on site.

Mayor Tracey Hargreaves said Picnic in the Park, along with other January 26 events including the Survival Day dawn ceremony and Australia Day citizenship ceremony, reflect the diversity of Ballarat.

“The program planned for the day supports our diverse community and the history we share,” she said.

“By delivering multiple events, we can create a sense of unity on the day and provide a space for different voices and experiences to be shared and heard.

“It’s vital we can acknowledge everything we have achieved as a nation, while reflecting on the past.”

Attendees can bring their own food and beverages to the event, but no alcohol will be permitted.

More than 5000 people attended last year. For more information, visit the City of Ballarat website.
