Promoting the perks of coworking
VICTORIA’s inaugural Coworking Week will be held later this month.
The five-day event is launching in 2021 to encourage businesses to look at how physically working in the same space as separate brands and professionals could positively influence their trade, operations or network.
Participating coworking centres, including Ballarat’s Platypus Coworking, will open their spaces for individuals, or a business’s team of staff, to explore the facilities and what they have to offer, including networking, professional development programs, and connections throughout the community.
Samantha Davies said workers from diverse professional areas, whether website developers or accountants, can book into try Platypus Coworking’s Lydiard Street home on Wednesday, 24 March.
“People can come in and get a feel for working out of their home, and we’ll probably offer a lunch on that day,” she said.
“The space is a place where you can meet and get to know other Ballarat businesses, and collaborate. We’ve just had some marketing collaborations, for example.
“Sometimes it’s just about getting out and about to see other faces outside of your home workspace, and I encourage people to come along and try something new that might allow you to open up different avenues for your business or working.”
Coworking Week is a collaborative initiative of the state’s largest coworking operators, acknowledging that most commercial spaces are owned by people or bodies that are barely connected to the businesses working under their roof.
It will run from Monday, 22 to Friday, 26 March. Visit platypuscoworking.com.au or call 0421 140 854.
