A NEW park has opened at Winter Valley providing families with a place for recreation inside Winterfield Estate.

The space includes parkland, an oval, a playground, a poppet head tower, hill access ropes, multiple slides, an agility trail, and spin point play equipment.

There are also barbecue and toilet facilities, fitness nodes, and drinking fountains, as well as 245 trees and landscaping completed by Fleming’s Landscapes.

Goldfields national director of communities, Paul Cicchiello, said a park is the centre point of a community.

“Residents who make Winterfield their home will be able to enjoy this community hub right outside their door every single day,” he said.

“Our new park has been designed with an active lifestyle in mind with facilities to accommodate neighbourhood cricket, footy, and soccer.

“This new park is a terrific example of how Goldfields is working hard to provide outstanding liveability for residents within the communities we create.”

The project cost $2 million and a further $160,000 has been allocated by Goldfields for maintenance.

Future resident Glenys Smith said it was important to live near green space.

“When I saw our block would be opposite Winterfield Park, I knew it would be a great opportunity for building a terrific family home,” she said.

“I want my kids to have lots of personal space, so they are not living and breathing on top of each other.

“We are getting that in spades at Winterfield.”
