WIDELY celebrated and loved, the annual Next Gen exhibition is set to showcase the best creative work from students across the region.

Coordinators are calling on art students from high schools in and around Ballarat, as the Next Gen 2021 program seeks to highlight their hard work in the face of the variety of challenges brought forth by the pandemic.

Submissions are open to applicants completing VCE art, studio arts, design and technology, visual communication and design and media, or students who have created design or art projects as part of the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning.

Once all works are submitted a panel including Art Gallery of Ballarat director Louise Tegart, along with the institution’s education team and curator will oversee the judging process.

Having exhibited some of the best work created by the region’s students for over 20 years, a spokesperson from the Gallery said the facility was excited to continue delivering the Next Gen program to provide budding artists with a platform.

To apply students need to fill out the online application form by 13 November with successful applicants contacted by 27 November.
