THOUSANDS of records and other antiques will be on sale this weekend at the Wizard’s Annual Book and Record Fair.

There will be jazz, rock, classic, and pop records on sale along with other treasures.

Organiser, Peter Wills, said he’s eager to see the event come to life again, now in its fifth year.

“I basically have so much stuff because I have been an antique dealer for 37 years,” he said.

“I’m interested in records and an avid reader, and I love anything old, so I’ve got the perfect job because that’s what I do for a living.

“Five years ago, I heard another dealer had been renting the hall and I realised it was the perfect location for me since it’s so close to my shop.

“I thought it was an excellent opportunity and a way to get people in with more diverse items.”

Set for the Messenger Hall next to the V.R.I. Hall in Soldiers Hill, Mr Wills said there will be 14 tables which are already set up and he will bring a further seven of eight from home.

“They’ll be a lot of paintings and prints, books and records and a wide variety of each and other collectibles,” he said.

“There should be something for everyone.

“We get a pretty good turn our especially on the Saturday and we have our regular collectors who look forward to it and people we’ve never met before.

“I think it’s one of those days when people go along and have a good look through a lot of stuff, it’s a different formular than going into an ordinary shop.”

The Wizard’s Annual Book and Record Fair goes on 15 and 16 April.
