MRS Bakers Still House is offering visitors a relaxed afternoon of gin and watercolour painting.

Participants will be guided through how to paint with watercolour, with no previous experience required.

“People sit out in the gin garden, surrounded by the gin botanicals, and we give them a choice of a whole lot of gin botanical prints that my daughter Georgette has made and a palette of watercolour paints,” said co-owner Jane Baker.

“It’s very easy and you don’t have to be an artist, but it is so relaxing.”

Attendees will also have the opportunity to sample the still houses gins and choose one to have in a gin and tonic.

Ms Baker was inspired to begin the classes by her own love of watercolour painting.

“I’ve always done watercolour painting, it’s sort of my thing when I go on holiday, I try to do a painting of where we are each day,” she said.

“It’s sort of my version of a holiday photo.”

It is hoped the session will allow attendees to stop and be present.

“I hope people come away with a great sense of relaxation and that they’ve just stopped and been quiet for a moment,” said Ms Baker.

The next session to being held Saturday 17 February with more sessions throughout the year. To book, visit the Mrs Bakers Still House website.
