Resort launches new arts space
RACV Goldfields Resort’s ArtHouse building opened last weekend with the aim of providing a space for workshops, exhibitions and creatives.
Bowen Kress, RACV Goldfields resort manager said the new building will showcase the creative works of Australian artists.
“RACV is pleased to open ArtHouse to members, visitors, resort guests and the local community,” he said.
“ArtHouse will engage, educate and inspire. It is a space where visitors can experience great Australian art and relax in the beautiful surroundings.
“RACV has a long and proud history of collaborating with Australian artists and values the role art plays in connecting communities.”
ArtHouse launched following the resort’s re-opening in June after storm damage incurred earlier this year.
The opening was marked with an exhibition by artist Casey Jeffery about Creswick’s surrounds and industrial history, which will run until Sunday, 11 December.
Prior to launching, the ArtHouse space housed a children’s creative workshop over the school holidays in September.
Hepburn Shire mayor Cr Tim Drylie said it’s a great addition for artists in the region and beyond.
“The opening of ArtHouse at the RACV Resort provides another creative space for exhibitions, and a place for local and visiting artists to showcase their work,” he said.
