MEMBERS of one of the region’s soccer clubs will be taking their game into the clubrooms early next month as part of the team’s major fundraiser for the year.

The Victoria Park Football Club’s annual reverse raffle is slated for Saturday 5 August from 3pm, and president Will Cousens said this year’s theme will be around the team colours of red, white, and blue.

“Red, white, and blue through and through, that’s the theme,” he said. “We’re encouraging people to come along and dress up in the colours from head to toe.

“There’ll be various prizes throughout the day. We’ve had lots of donations from businesses and put together various packages.

“This covers a lot of costs for us. There’s our new facilities. There’s the potential for subsidising memberships and it also goes towards our equipment.”

Fifty dollars will go towards attendees who draw the first, 50th, 100th, and 150th tickets.

The final ticket drawer will receive the top prize of $1500.

Silent auctions, coin tosses, and lucky joker games will also be held while tickets will include free drinks for two hours of the evening.

The event typically raises about $8000 for the club each year.

Mr Cousens he’s most looking forward to the social side of the event.

“It’s an opportunity to come together and see people you haven’t seen for a while,” he said. “There’s lots of old faces that come back to support the club.”

Entry plus the raffle draw is $50 and tickets can be booked at bit.ly/3Q2KnIX.
