RISE AND SHINE WITH Australia Day brekkie
AUSTRALIA Day is set to get off to a great start in Wendouree as the Uniting Church hosts a free breakfast for the public.
From 8am, everyone is welcome at the church to commence their day of celebrations amongst friends and new faces.
The brekkie will precede a service and then entertainment will be enjoyed from the Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute’s resident choir, Sing Australia, directed by Marilyn Kent.
The choir will sing several brackets of Australian songs and then an Australia Day cake will be cut.
The Wendouree Uniting Church encourages the Ballarat community to head along and be a part of the special celebration.
‘Jan’ always enjoys the morning.
“Each year we look forward to catching up with friends and it’s a great way to start the day in a real Australian spirit,” she said.
“The breakfast originally started in 2003 with an Australia Day award to acknowledge the wonderful work done by volunteers in the Wendouree area.”
Head to 1022 Grevillea Road, Wendouree on Saturday, 26 January to join in the celebrations.
