THE Alfredton Rotary Club has made a significant donation 3BA’s annual Winter Appeal.

A cheque of $1000 was handed over the radio station last Friday after the Club got back funds set aside for Blaze Aid who had been working in Lexton following summer bushfires.

The club was then able to redistribute the money to the Winter Appeal to help those who currently need it most.

The Appeal ambassador Peter Caligari said donating money is more important now more than ever.

“Because of the virus, people are doing it even tougher. That’s why this year, we’re collecting cash donations to not just help people find food, but also pay their bills,” Mr Caligari said.

Donations will be shared among Uniting Ballarat, the Salvation Army, Anglicare Ballarat, and the St Vincent de Paul Society to help those doing it tough.

As part of the appeal, The Salvation Army office on Eureka Street is collecting non-perishable food and clean blankets, while cash donations can be made through the 3BA website.
